Professional Builders Supply, headquartered in Morrisville, North Carolina, wanted to open a second location. Because the\u00a0new location would open in Wilmington in a very short period,\u00a0the building material supply company<\/a>\u00a0needed it to be operational quickly.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Agility<\/a> was critical to opening the new location. The cloud-based platform is highly scalable and only requires an Internet connection. \u201cThere was no additional hardware to purchase, and the software made it easy to add another branch,\u201d said Steve Lochbaum,\u00a0Vice President of Finance & Administration. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWithin several hours, under the guidance of DMSi implementation experts, the new branch was entering orders and doing business. Not sure if any other system, especially one run in-house, could have handled this.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Access From Anywhere<\/h3>\n

Professional Builders Supply employees at both locations access Agility from anywhere. \u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is nice because even if we lost power at the store, we could\u00a0continue to function,\u201d said Matt Vordermark,\u00a0 Vice President of Operations. \u201cEven if we couldn\u2019t print a delivery ticket because power to the printer was\u00a0off, we could plug-in a hand-held printer and get a pre-printed laser delivery ticket.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Because it is hosted in the cloud, server maintenance, backups, and software updates are handled by DMSi. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn our business, I\u2019m the IT department\u201d Lochbaum said. \u201cWith the support I have from DMSi, I see no strategic reason to bring anyone else on to help with Agility.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Agility supports Professional Builders Supply\u2019s fundamental focus on customer service in everyday situations. \u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0fast and easy to find and enter information,\u201d Vordermark said. \u201cThe orders are correct, and we have a lot of flexibility to get a customer in and out of our yard quickly.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Agility\u2019s end-to-end functionality for special order items is also a significant feature for Professional Builder Supply. \u201cAs long as you take advantage of how Agility works, you are going to know where everything is at any given time,\u201d Vordermark said. \u201cOur business is 50% non-stock items. Being able to have a screw or hanger or door sweep in the system and then walk right to the spot its located and physically touch it makes our life so much easier. It\u2019s just accurate.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
